When travelling the motorways of U.K., large trucks can often be seen bearing the name, “Logistics.” The dictionary definition of this word is: detailed planning and organization of a large operation – but the Greek root is “logos,” i.e. “word.”

The New Testament presents Jesus as “The Word.” The Word speaks. John 1:1 declares,”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:3 is a tremendous declaration, continuing to speak of Jesus, “All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.”

Verse 4: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of man.”

Verse 14: “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us…..full of grace and truth.”

There is something bigger in the “Word” that we have not yet fully comprehended. The Lord Jesus Christ was our “Pattern Man.” He carried the presence of His Father, God. Verse 14: “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us….” The trucks mentioned earlier have a function. They bear the company name and are carriers.

We can be carriers of God’s presence, just as Jesus was. But Jesus only spoke the words He heard His Father say. He was in continuous communication with Him. With Christ indwelling our being we have opportunity to speak as He did. John 6:63, Jesus said, “It is the Spirit that quickens…..the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.”

Jesus’ heart was totally for His Father’s will. When our hearts are ruled by Jesus Christ, our words will carry life to others. The words of Jesus carried creation and life to people.

During the temptation of Jesus, recorded in Matthew 4, He declared to the devil, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” When God speaks all creation stands to attention. A word from Him is a living word, (reimer), releasing the divine D.N.A. of creation to change impossible situations. Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Romans 8:11, “If the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.” This same resurrection power is waiting to burst out from within us to speak creation into dead situations, to change the coarse of lives spiralling ever downwards into darkness, to bring hope to a world that desperately needs the unknown love and peace of Father God, that some have never experienced as yet. The whole of creation is groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God to come to maturity and MANIFEST all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ, in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and we are complete in Him – Colossians 2.

James 5:7 “…the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it…” God is the divine Husbandman, we are the fruit in His vineyard. May He enjoy the fruit of His labour….IT IS TIME!

May our lives evidence the perfume of His presence as we learn to live in His presence and be carriers of it, to His praise and glory!
