1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Does my life fulfill this scripture? Only one man ever fulfilled it 100% and that was Jesus Christ. He declared His “nothingness” and then performed miracles through the power of “Another”, His Father. Jesus said, “I can of mine own self do nothing. It is the Father in me, He does the work.” Jesus only ever did the things that pleased His Father. Only when we embrace our nothingness can we believe and operate in the fact that it is Christ in me, the hope of glory. God wants us to come to the position, as our opening scripture encourages us, that WHATEVER we do, to do all to the glory of His great name…..(not mine!)

God wants to be included in my life. He wants to be wanted! Can I love someone I do not know? No! So then, for me to love God, I have to get to know Him. Jesus, speaking to His Father, John 17:3 declares, “And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW YOU the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” It is an amazing fact that God’s love is completed in us, for the very nature of love, requires someone to lavish that love upon to fulfill itself. God’s love completes me. I am complete in Him. God’s love is perfectly balanced and when His love is operating through me, others will benefit. I can become a channel of His divine nature of love and peace when I put God first in my life. An ordered life is an enjoyable life where God has His rightful place, first before everyone and everything, as I acknowledge Him in all my ways.

Proverbs 3: 5-7 teaches us the way to walk with the Lord, get to know Him better and live our lives to His glory. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil.”

“IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM….” How easy it is to fail at this hurdle! So very often we get into situations without actually consulting God and act independently in our own wisdom which appears to be “good” at the time, but is not necessarily “God” for us.

IF I DO NOT CONSULT GOD, I INSULT GOD!

This is not a religious bondage that requires me to ask the Lord what to wear or eat in every little matter, (although it may include that at certain times if God is speaking into something specific), but it is a life changing liberty where God directs my steps, gives me His wisdom, guides me into His divine purposes and develops a deeper relationship between us. It needs to become my lifestyle that I walk and talk with Him….”acknowledge Him in all my ways.” A deeper intimacy with Him will develop as I spend more time with Him. This is our birthright, to live in His presence.

Acts 17:28 “For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” The possibilities from living in this position are endless. There are no impossibilities in Christ Jesus. He makes the impossible possible. When I come to the end of my hoarded resources and surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading, I enter into the super-abundance of the resources of God….all for His glory.
