Philemon v 6: That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Many times whilst seeking to express or communicate our faith to other people, ( whether believers or not ) we fail to see that our words are ineffective because either we allow others to put honour on our flesh or we seek to project or seek honour for ourselves instead of honouring every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus, as the scripture in Philemon 6 mentions.

The Lord Jesus says in… John 5: 44  “How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only”?  Also… John 8: 54-55  “If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: yet ye have not known him.

God gives us the gift of faith proportionately and the more I come to know him intimately in relationship the more effective my life becomes in communicating the faith he has given me.
Philemon v 6 says…That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

How does it become effectual? When I see the importance that God puts on acknowledging every good thing in me is because of the life of the indwelling Christ within me.
Every good thing manifested in my life comes from the indwelling life of Jesus!!  Everything else is the manifestation of my carnal nature.

Ineffectiveness has a very loud voice, and, so often I am unaware how ineffective my life is because I am unaware of the importance God places on honouring his son, Jesus, in everything I say and do.

The Lord Jesus is the first born of many brethren ( Rom 8: 29 ) and as our pattern man and example, as his relationship worked with his Father, even so ours is to be the same.
It is right in honour to prefer one another ( Rom 12: 10 ) but it is wrong to seek honour from anyone other than God…( John 5: 44 )
Seeking honour from one another nullifies or negates my faith and makes me ineffective.
When one came to Jesus and said  “Good Master” Jesus corrected him and said  “why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God”…( Mark 10: 18 )

The glory of God is in the face of Jesus Christ ( 2 Corinthians 4: 6 ) and he will not give his glory , ( the credit due to him ) to another.

Returning to the scripture at the beginning of this subject in Philemon v 6, when the proportion of faith God has given me becomes effective, because I have learnt to communicate or express it to the Glory of God, God will increase it. But just as we teach our children to be responsible a little at a time, and hold them to be accountable for that which has been entrusted to them, so God is teaching us to be entrusted with this gospel, by faith of the Lord Jesus which he has deposited proportionately in each one of us.
As the communication of that faith is expressed in word and deed to his glory, so will he impart more faith as he changes us to be conformed to the image of his Son, Jesus…( Rom 8: 29 )
